Our journals📓 are where the Zag magic happens. Our journals📓 are designed to bring the themes and ideas in our books📚 to the real world🌎. In the journals we provide interactive prompts and actionable items that bring the character lessons from the stories to life. The journals📓 are also a place in which we provide creative drawing✍, coloring🎨, and writing opportunities!

Just like the ancient fables, we currently do not segment our books based on age or reading capability. We target adults as much as the children with our messaging and encourage parents to read our books📚 together with their children.
However the books and journals are probably best suited for ages 5-10. 5/6 year olds can do the journals with assistance and can talk about the prompts out loud. The journals also include fun activities like word searches and coloring sheets to keep younger kids engaged.
As we grow we may offer age segmented journals.
We believe parenting is the most important🔝 and difficult job in the world🌎. We want to be a place where parents and kids connect🔗around the world🌎 and share ideas💡 and resources leveraging our provided books📚, materials, social, etc as a starting and connecting point for a broader conversation. We refer to you as readers, community members, and contributors. Not customers. Even if you don't want to buy our books📚 we hope you will subscribe to our free content or follow us on social.
We offer a facebook community group for parents to support each other and discuss resources, questions, and more.
We believe that whatever views or messages we express through our books📚/content has the possibility of being nuanced, and not black and white. Our perspective is only a starting point and we welcome learning from our community. We believe strong💪 communities are those with diversity in thoughts💭 and opinions. So, we approach every issue carefully and with the idea💡 that life's solutions come in the form of percentages and not a binary of right or wrong /either or. Disagree🤯 with some of our content or resources? Please give us feedback🙏. Please contribute to our Facebook community or better yet reach out to us about building a story with your school🏫, company, or organization!
Diversity in characters, message, and access to our content is a critical value to us. As such, we make every effort to translate each book into as many as 10 languages(or more). As with our other publishing strategies, we partner with our community to translate these books and they are always being updated and improved over time which is in line with our commitment to iterative self publishing.
We want children of all ages to be able to draw✍ our characters. We believe drawing, coloring, and other artistic🎨 ways of engaging our characters leads to a deeper connection and greater chance of absorbing each stories meaning👍.
We of course strive for editing excellence, but our primary objective is to publish story lines that are frequent, relevant, and impactful. This comes with the risk that there may be unseen errors. We depend on our iterative crowd editing to optimize books after their initial release.👍
A long phrase we made up.😆 We believe that cultural and societal issues change too quickly making it difficult for traditional children’s book📚 publishing cycles(1-2 years) to stay relevant. Our microcycles⚡ starting from idea incubation on through digital publishing can take as little as 14 days for our children’s books📚.
We do our best to challenge and be a resource for parents and children👍. Parenting is the most important job we have as human beings, while also being a job we are often least prepared for. So our books and supporting material for adults are designed to start a conversation and dialogue between parents.
Emojis are here to stay😆. We want to be relevant😎 in content and how we communicate. Many studies show that including emojis in text is more interesting and more likley to be read. While we appreciate there are varying opinions around this concept, we like these perspectives here and here. As with all our content, we encourage crowd based suggestions for better emojis or different emojis that we can use in future iterations. All emojis are designed by OpenMoji – the open-source emoji and icon project. License: CC BY-SA 4.0 We are thankful to the OpenMoji project in helping bring our content to life in unique ways.
We want everyone in the world🌎 to experience the stories📚 and messages we are sharing regardless of socioeconomic or geographic situations. We often support these free version of the books📚 with carefully designed product placement within the story lines. Our brand partners are socially oriented and thougthful organizations(for profit & non profit) who feel a greater responsibility to their mission than profit making.
