Don't🚫 touch politics, they said. Don't🚫 try to use political humor, they said. Don't🚫 do any social media or content referencing politics, they said. So, here is why we didn't listen👂.
👉This video was done to emphasize this point. Our Zag the Zonkey project values sharing very relevant themes and ideas💡 with modern families. To initiate conversation and sharing of diverse opinions. We are rooted in diversity, inclusion, and unity as a herd. Did you know most children’s books📚 take 1-2 years to publish? In 1-2 years we can have a pandemic😷, go to Mars🚀, or have chips in our brains🧠. We pride ourselves on connecting🤝 around relevant topics of the day. That means creating thought provoking content and books📚 in days and weeks, not years. Our culture is changing at lightning⚡ speed and our content for kids and families has to keep up. Connecting around how to best grow🌳 humans in a challenging world. That is what the Zag the Zonkey community is all about.
👉Zag the Zonkey & Friends characters and their families cut across all political spectrums. They are Zemocrats, Zepublicans, Zindependents, and others that represent the diverse values of the herd.
👉Our commitment to diversity in thought extends to our commitment to translating our books📚 into over 10 languages. You can't commit to the value of diversity without acknowledging that our herd of humankind speaks many languages. So, in the coming days we will release Sami the Spricket in a new language each day, available digitally for free, for people all over the world🌍.
👉Back to politics. So yes, we used some political humor in this post. Because…well…we can’t escape it these days. Being about relevant ideals, it makes sense. Our belief is that we need to be able to laugh at ourselves. At our politicians. Life is hard. Laughing makes it easier. And as much as we may like or dislike the other we are one herd, Zag the Zonkey & Friends.
👉Don’t like our video or thoughts? Tell us about it! It starts with listening and not cancelling. We are also rooted in the value that there is a probability we may be wrong. We don't believe in a right or wrong binary. Nuance and humility in a commitment to a probability of "wrongness(our word)" is key to connection with others(for the Zonkey's) . So, as much as it hurts, we understand that our ideas might have flaws. That our books may have flaws or errors. Creating content at lightning⚡speed also means we may miss on certain topics or that some content stinks💩 . That is ok👌. It's about a commitment to our values above and that can come at the expense of messes and misses.
